Interviewer: What was your job on a day-to-day basis?
Interviewee: The day-to-day activities of a medical science liaison really come naturally to somebody that is smart and has really good interpersonal skills, because the key to this job is knowing the data and being able to translate clinical data and numbers into good conversation with smart people who work at academic centers. So you do a lot of work. Basically, I think as the liaison between the medical affairs department of the pharmaceutical company, and the key thought leaders at academic centers. So on a day-to-day basis, you may be conducting one-on-one meetings, you may be conducting group meetings with either thought leaders who are interested in clinical research, you may be talking to formulary members, you may be talking to members on the P&T committee or you may be talking to somebody interested in investigator-initiated trials, who come to you with an idea and are looking, you know, to see if that idea might be something that a company would be interested in sponsoring.
